OUR STORY

This is Red Willow Outdoors, and we’re the McCormick's. Our passion for the outdoors is unmatched, and Southern Alberta is the ultimate spot to explore those passions. We do it all, from crisp mountain fed rivers to large open lakes, grain fields to prairie wetlands, abandoned farmsteads to coulee tips we employ years of knowledge and experience with the outdoors to find some of the best game the world has to offer, all in our back yard. Conservationists by trade, we enjoy chasing wild game in the very landscapes that we help preserve and protect.

MEET YOUR GUIDES

Perry McCormick

Perry’s lengthy career in the field of conservation had him all around Southern Alberta. From Lethbridge, to Brooks, to High River, where he currently finds himself, Perry has had the opportunity to expand his knowledge and experience to all what Southern Alberta has to offer. On his downtime, you will find Perry hunting upland birds over his brittany, Louie, waterfowl with his lab, Johnny, or fishing the incredible waters of Southern Alberta. Of course, after years in the industry, and multitudes of different hunting and fishing clients and partners, his sons, Carson and Kade, still remain his favourite two to share his free times in the outdoors with.

Carson McCormick

Growing up in the foothills of southern Alberta had Carson in a hotbed for fly fishing and hunting from a young age. Bouncing between pristine streams and rivers, and prairie wetlands and lakes provided him the opportunity to pursue a variety of game species with his two dogs, Bush and Chuk.

Kade McCormick

Situated in Calgary, Alberta, Kade makes the most of his close proximity to the Blue-Ribbon Bow River. As a Fish Biologist Kade applies a lifetime of outdoor enthusiasm as a conservation professional in Alberta. Kade is able to live season to season, finding himself chasing prime conditions in fly fishing, hunting or snowboarding.

Derek Hallgrimson

Derek, by nature, is sick for it. Cupped up honkers and trophy pike are what he lives for. Growing up in southern Manitoba, waterfowling has become a way of life. After relocating to Alberta for college, he has made his living in the outdoors. Derek has guided for both waterfowl in Alberta and pike in Northern Manitoba.  Today, Derek finds himself in Strathmore, working in the field of conservation, this puts him in a prime flyway location for ducks and geese.

Jonathan Pool

When Jonathan isn’t out working in the field as a wetland conservationist, he’s out chasing waterfowl. Field hunts for ducks and geese are where Jonathan thrives, and nothing makes him happier than to have waves of birds working in close for the “take em” call. Whether its early September pea field hunts, or late season corn field hunts, he will find them, and ensure that every hunt ends with big smiles, and satisfied clients. Growing up on a family farm in Saskatchewan, but living now in Brooks, Jonathan’s eyes have been opened to the vast possibilities in fishing and hunting that Southern Alberta has to offer. On any given day, you can find him fishing pike and walleye on the reservoirs in the area, or hunting with his yellow and black labs.
